NEWSLETTERS

Every month, a Newsletter will be sent out via mass email to parents of dancers currently enrolled at SZD. To subscribe to our email group, send an email to the following address: studio-z-dance-company+subscribe@googlegroups.com You will be sent an email asking you to agree to receive emails from our automated system. Please do not disregard that email to avoid not being fully added to the email chain.

Parents are expected to read fully each Newsletter to ensure that we are all on the same page. There will be reminder about dates, fees, as well as opportunities that your dancer may want to be a part of. â€‹Failure to follow clear instructions in the Newsletters may result in your dancer not being fully prepared for an event or class.

TUITION

Each dancer has a set monthly tuition which must be paid monthly. Think of tuition as a subscription: Even if you do not USE the service, you are still expected to pay your bill until you cancel the subscription or complete the course.

Tuition will be posted on the first of every month. Tuition is deemed late if not paid by the 15th of the month. A late fee of $25 will be added to your balance if not paid on time.

All dancers have a Studio Pro account attached to their parent’s login. Parents are expected to have the STUDIO PRO PORTAL app on their cellular device for convenience. This is where you will pay your monthly tuition, fees, and any products you purchase from the studio. There is an Auto-Pay option which we highly prefer, but you may also manually pay when it is the best time for you. We do accept cash and check as a method of payment, but please ensure it gets to the front desk in an organized manner. If a payment is lost prior to getting to a STUDIO Z STAFF MEMBER, you will be expected to still makeup that original payment.

Once tuition is posted, there will be no deletions of tuition. If you enrolled in a course, you are actively taking up a spot someone else could have. Therefore, you will pay for that spot whether you show up to class or not. Do not enroll in a course if you are not fully committed to attending. You will not be allowed to register for any future courses if you have a balance with Studio Z.

It is your responsibility to drop a class if you are not planning on attending any longer. You may drop a class at anytime in the Studio Pro Portal App. If you drop the course AFTER tuition is posted, you are still expected to pay that tuition.

All payments for tuition are final. No refunds will be given at any time. If you have not paid for tuition within the 60 days of its posting, your dancer will be automatically dropped from the class and not permitted to enter class.

Tuition is based on the length of the class taken weekly. Please note that these are the prices BEFORE tax. The breakdown is below:

  • 30 minute class --> $30 monthly

  • 45 minute class --> $45 monthly

  • 60 minute class --> $60 monthly

We do offer a tuition discount for multiple siblings enrolled in our dance classes. See the breakdown below:

  • 2 siblings --> 20%

  • 3 siblings --> 30%

  • 4+ siblings --> 40%

In an effort to motivate dancers to be in as many classes as possible, we also offer a multiclass discount:

  • 4 classes --> 10%

  • 5 classes --> 20%

  • 6+ classes --> 30% â€‹â€‹

DRESS CODE

We do require a certain dress code in order to ensure safety of others and full commitment and progression in dancers' respective styles. If your child is not in adherence to our dress code, we may ask them to leave or sit during class. Please see the proper dress for your respective classes:

ATTENDANCE

A dancer’s progress correlates to his/her attendance. Dancers are encouraged to attend as many classes for their prospective age/ability levels as possible. If a dancer misses any number of consecutive rehearsals, we may hold a meeting for parents and teachers to resolve the issue. If you are expected to be absent, please attempt to email Studio Z prior to their class.

Dancers are expected to arrive prior to the start of class, and be ready for class at the teacher’s entrance. If a dancer misses a class, he or she is allowed to attend any other classes that are the same age group/style, WITHIN THE SAME WEEK of the missed class. Or you may consider booking a private to learn the content that was missed. You can book Private Lessons in your Studio Pro Portal.

CLASS CANCELLATIONS

Should weather (or any other event) become an eminent danger to staff or dancers traveling, we may cancel classes. We will notify parents of closure via email and through social media platforms. Generally, we close if Zachary Community Schools is closed, but, sometimes, there are extenuating circumstances. If multiple class sessions have been cancelled for various reasons, SZD may attempt to makeup the misses classes. This will also be communicated via email to parents.

ILLNESS/INJURY

When dancers have a contagious illness, please inform the studio and refrain from bringing them to class. If a dancer has a non-contagious illness or physical injury, they may still attend class to observe. If a dancer has an injury, the studio needs to be fully informed on the nature of the injury. Dancers will not be allowed to dance or tumble until a Doctor's Note has been turned in explaining that the dancer is now fit to participate.

If a dancer becomes injured while at practice, the parent will be updated as soon as possible on what happened and what measures were taken to aid the dancer. Studio Z LLC will not be held liable for any injuries taking place during classes or within Studio Z’s facility.

CLASS PLACEMENTS

Dancers are initially separated based on age groups.

  • Itty Bitty --> 2-4 years

  • Mini --> 5-7 years

  • Elementary --> 8-11 years

  • Junior/Senior --> 12+ years

If a dancer shows potential for moving up, their teacher will make that distinction clear to Studio Z operators, and a message will be sent out informing parents of that opportunity. Some dancers may also be held back if certain foundational abilities are missing. It is important that dancers are in the paired technical class for the style they take to ensure basic education is being applied. â€‹

* Recital routine class

ANNUAL RECITAL SHOW

Each dancer is expected to participate in the end-of-the-season recital, in the last two weeks of May. This date will be sent out in plenty of time for preparation. Your dancer may only dance in one show or multiple, pending their age and class type.

With being in the recital, there are additional fees that incur. A costume fee is due December 1st, and that total is given to you in October of your season. A recital fee of $150 is due March 1st. The recital fee covers the program book photography/design/printing, T-shirt, 2 program books, ticketing (each dancer gets 4), venue, and staff on recital day. You will not receive your costumes until your balance is fully paid by December 1st or at a later date if not by then. You also will not receive your recital tickets, T-shirt, or program books until your balance is paid off on May 1st of your season.

Students are allowed to Opt-Out of recital, but this needs to be communicated to SZD by December 1st. It also may result in your dancer taking class on the ends of formations during class.

THE COMPANY

Our Company Team is a competitive dance team which undergoes extensive additional training and requirements to compete both regionally and nationally each year. In order to qualify for auditions for this team, dancers must be enrolled in a minimum of ballet, acro, and jazz for their respective age group. Dancers also must audition for specific placements based on their abilities.

If you're looking for a fast-track to opportunities and growth, our Company team just might be the perfect fit for you! Email the studio for more information or questions.
